Grav Shooter (Unity 18 hours prototype)
Project Overview:
"Grav Shooter" is a simple and fast-paced Unity prototype developed over an 18-hour period. The game explores unique gravity-based mechanics, allowing players to manipulate enemy bullets through gravitational fields and redirect them back to attackers, turning defense into offense.
Core Mechanics:
Gravity Manipulation:
Players use gravitational fields strategically positioned on the map to influence enemy bullet trajectories. Successfully redirecting bullets against enemies provides immediate feedback and engages strategic decision-making.Bullet Redirection:
The prototype emphasizes timing and spatial awareness, challenging players to quickly plan their actions under pressure.
My Role:
Designed and implemented gameplay mechanics.
Programmed gravity systems and bullet physics interactions.
Quickly iterated the prototype to ensure playability and fun within the limited timeframe.
Reflections:
Creating this rapid prototype demonstrated the importance of quickly validating core gameplay ideas. This short development cycle encouraged focused scope, prioritization, and immediate problem-solving, providing a strong foundation for my subsequent project, "Grav Slinger."
